A dental cleaning at Mosaic Dentistry gives you something to smile about. Not only does your mouth feel wonderfully fresh and clean, but your smile looks great, too. And even more important, regular dental cleanings remove the plaque and calculus that can lead to decay and periodontal disease. Even if you regularly brush and floss (and we hope you do) you can’t remove all of the material that accumulates and leads to dental disease – for that you need a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
Our hygienist is dedicated to preventing tooth decay as well as bone loss and tooth loss due to periodontal disease. She strives to educate our patients on their gum and bone conditions so that our patients have a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. We will help get you motivated to commit to regular dental cleanings (twice a year for most people) – it’s a great way to preserve your dental health and your beautiful smile!
Mosaic Dentistry’s goal is to prevent dental disease as much as possible. We want to start seeing our patients as children, care for them right up to adulthood and never find a cavity! One way cavities can be prevented is through the placement of sealants. Even if your child brushes and flosses carefully it is difficult – sometimes impossible – to clean the tiny grooves and pits on certain teeth.
Food and bacteria build up in these crevices, putting your child at risk for tooth decay. Sealants “seal out” food and plaque and reduce the risk of decay. Sealants on permanent teeth with deep grooves are standard treatment for children at Mosaic Dentistry. We want to build a world without tooth decay, one child at a time. Sealants are also appropriate for adult’s too! Ask your dentist today if you could benefit from this procedure.
